- Animated playback for timing and spacing
- Printable wristbands and Game Mode

Start drawing in your flag format
Every format opens with a real alignment on the field, not an empty grid. Pick the one you coach and the first play is a couple of drags away.
Real flag concepts, drawn the way you'd draw them on a board
These are live diagrams rendered by the same engine the editor uses — not screenshots. Open one and every node is still draggable.
Pre-snap motion resets the strength, the corner and hitch stress the same defender.
Two shallow crossers set the rub; the H sits down behind them against zone.
A drawn screen with blockers set in front of the ball, shown with terminal bars.
Animate
Press play and see whether the timing actually works
A drawn play can look great and still be a mess at full speed. Playback runs every player through the concept at the same time, so you can see the crosser clearing before the dig arrives, whether the motion man gets there before the snap, and where the spacing collapses.
Organize
A playbook, not a folder of loose diagrams
Group plays into named playbooks — base install, red zone, blitz beaters — and reorder them the way you'd call them. Tag a play with the situations it's good for and it surfaces when you need it. Archive anything you've moved on from without deleting the work.

Game Mode
Call it from an iPad on the sideline
Game Mode is a locked, read-only view of one playbook: a large diagram, oversized next and previous buttons, the quick calls you starred, and a small scoreboard. Switch playbooks without leaving the sideline view, and nothing gets edited by a stray thumb.

Coaching staffs
Create a team workspace and share playbooks with coordinators and assistants so everyone installs the same version.
Screens and blocking
Blocking and screen assignments draw with a terminal bar instead of an arrowhead, so nobody confuses a wall with a route.
Reads, not just routes
Mark the primary read on a concept so the quarterback learns progression, not memorized pictures.
Works on the field
Draw on a phone at practice, review on a laptop at home, call from a tablet on Saturday — it's the same playbook.
Share and remix
Send a play link to another coach, or publish to Discover and let the community adapt it to their format.

You can draw and animate a full play before creating an account.
Flag football playbook questions
- What is a flag football playbook?
- It is the organized set of plays your team actually runs — usually a handful of base concepts, a few goal line calls, a blitz-beater or two and something for third and long. In Football Playbook each play is a drawn, animated diagram, and a playbook is a named collection of those plays you can reorder, share and print.
- How do I create a flag football playbook?
- Pick your format, drag players into your alignment, draw a route off each receiver, mark the primary read, then save the play into a playbook. Most coaches build their first five-play install in a single sitting because there is no formation library to learn first.
- Can I draw my own flag football plays?
- Yes — everything is drawn by hand. Routes, motion, runs, fakes, handoffs, laterals and screens are all drawn directly on the field, and every node stays editable afterward, so you can nudge a corner route two yards deeper without redrawing it.
- Does Football Playbook support 5v5?
- Yes. 5v5 is the most-used format on the site and opens with a center, quarterback and three receivers already aligned. There is a dedicated 5v5 flag football playbook page if that is the only format you coach.
- Can I create 6v6, 7v7, 8v8 and 9v9 plays?
- Yes. Each format opens with a sensible starting alignment and the correct player count, and you can move, relabel or re-role any player. A play built in one format can be switched to another and the alignment migrates with it.
- Can I create wristbands?
- Yes. Any play in your playbook can be dropped into a numbered wristband slot and printed as a booklet — front panel plus two inside panels, up to 24 calls. The preview on screen is drawn by the same renderer that generates the PDF, so what you see is what prints.
- Can I use my playbook on an iPad during games?
- Yes. Game Mode is a read-only sideline view built for a tablet: one large play diagram, big next and previous controls, quick calls you starred before kickoff, and a compact scoreboard. Nothing can be edited by accident with a glove on.
- Can I share plays with other coaches?
- Yes. Every saved play has a share link, plays can be published to Discover for other coaches to find and remix, and a team workspace lets your coordinators and assistants work from the same playbook.
