Information You Provide

Depending on how you interact with the Service, we may collect information you voluntarily provide, including:

• Email address
• Account information (such as authentication provider details)
• Play diagrams, formations, routes, and related content you create and save
• Favorites, comments, and other community interactions
• Customer support communications
• Any other information you voluntarily provide

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we or our service providers may automatically collect information such as:

• IP address
• Browser and device information
• Operating system
• Pages or features accessed
• Referring URLs
• Approximate location derived from IP address
• Dates and times of activity
• Cookies and similar technologies
• Analytics and performance information

We seek to collect only information reasonably necessary to operate, improve, secure, and provide the Service.

We may use information to:

• Provide and operate the Service
• Create and manage user accounts
• Process user requests and submissions
• Generate and display play diagrams and animations you request
• Communicate with users
• Provide customer support
• Improve functionality and user experience
• Analyze usage and performance
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
• Comply with applicable legal obligations
• Enforce our terms and policies

We will not use personal information for materially different purposes without providing appropriate notice or obtaining consent where required by law.

We send several distinct kinds of email, and you control most of them.

• Account and service email. Sign-in and password links, email verification, team and organization invitations, replies to questions you send us, and other messages required to operate your account. These are necessary to provide the Service and are not subject to marketing preferences.
• Product updates. News about Football Playbook features and product changes, sent to account holders. Every one of these emails includes an unsubscribe link, and you can turn them off at any time.
• Coaching content. Plays, ideas, tips and coaching resources. This is optional and only sent to coaches who have chosen to receive it.
• Offers and partners. Promotions, sponsored messages and affiliate or partner offers. This is optional and requires your explicit opt-in. We never infer this consent from creating an account, using the Service, belonging to an organization, or from any other email preference, and we do not sell or share your email address with partners — any partner message is sent by us.

You can change these choices at any time in your Football Playbook profile settings, or through the preferences link at the bottom of any marketing email — no sign-in required. You can also unsubscribe from all marketing email in one step. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately; account and service email continues.

Our email provider records delivery outcomes — whether a message was sent, bounced, was reported as spam, or was unsubscribed — so we can keep our mailing list accurate and stop emailing addresses that cannot or should not receive mail. We do not currently track whether you open an email or click links inside it. If that changes, we will update this Policy before doing so.

The Service does not currently use artificial intelligence, machine learning, large language models, or other automated technologies to process user-submitted content. If AI-enabled features are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe what information is processed and the third-party providers involved.

We may disclose information to companies that help us operate the Service. Our current service providers include:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and backend infrastructure
• Lovable Cloud — hosting, deployment, and platform infrastructure
• Google — OAuth authentication provider

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce agreements, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or complete a corporate transaction such as a merger or acquisition.

The Service allows users to create and save play diagrams, formations, routes, comments, favorites, and related content. Saved plays and community content are stored in our database and retained until you delete them or close your account.

Anonymous users may save draft plays locally in their browser using localStorage. These drafts remain on your device until you clear your browser storage.

If you send us game footage through our video submission form, the video and the details you provide with it (your name, email, team, and any handle, description, or play link) are stored privately and are accessible only to authorized Football Playbook staff. Submitted videos have no public link. Footage may include youth athletes, so we ask you to confirm that you have the permissions required before sharing it; the permission you give us to edit and publish a submitted video is set out in our Video Submission Terms. You can ask us to delete a submitted video at any time.

Copies may remain temporarily in backups or logs where reasonably necessary for security, disaster recovery, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Service, maintaining security, satisfying legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements.

Different categories of information may have different retention periods. Where practical, information that is no longer necessary is deleted, anonymized, or otherwise securely disposed of.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse. These measures may include, where appropriate:

• Encryption in transit
• Encryption at rest
• Access controls
• Authentication controls
• Private storage configurations
• Restricted database permissions
• Logging and monitoring
• Secure credential management
• Software and dependency updates

No system can guarantee absolute security, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or security incidents will never occur.

The Service uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to:

• Keep the Service functioning
• Remember preferences and authentication sessions
• Understand Service usage
• Measure performance
• Diagnose technical problems
• Improve the Service

Where required by law, users will be provided appropriate choices regarding non-essential cookies and tracking technologies.

The Service does not currently process payments or offer paid subscriptions. If paid features or subscriptions are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe the payment processor and related billing practices.

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:

• Request access to personal information
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion
• Obtain a copy of certain information
• Opt out of certain data sharing, targeted advertising, or sales
• Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent

California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and other applicable California privacy laws. Where applicable, these rights may include access, correction, deletion, portability, and the ability to opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information.

The Service is a general-audience service and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through a general-audience Service. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child in circumstances requiring parental consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete the information or otherwise comply with applicable law.

Unless expressly supported by the Service, users should not submit highly sensitive information such as:

• Social Security numbers
• Government identification numbers
• Financial account credentials
• Medical records or protected health information
• Biometric identifiers
• Precise geolocation information
• Passwords
• Other highly confidential or regulated information

If we become aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will investigate and respond as appropriate and provide legally required notifications where applicable.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If we make material changes to how we collect, use, or disclose personal information, we will provide notice and obtain consent where required by applicable law. We will not rely solely on retroactive changes to this Policy where additional notice or consent is legally required.
