Seven-on-seven
Build a 7v7 Football Playbook
A 7v7 football playbook is mostly about spacing and timing, and that's exactly what's hard to see on a whiteboard. Draw your seven-on-seven concepts here, press play to watch the windows open, and take the install to practice on a phone or a tablet.
- Seven-player alignment ready to draw on
- Route combinations with a marked primary read
- Coverage looks and defensive drops
- Animated timing, wristbands and Game Mode

Three levels to one side: a clear-out, an intermediate breaker and a flat.
What 7v7 means here
Worth being direct, because the term covers more than one game.
Passing-league 7v7
No linemen, pass-only development football played at camps and in summer leagues. Draw the concept and the coverage; your league's rules on rushing and contact are yours to apply.
7v7 flag football
A seven-player-per-side flag league with its own rulebook. Same alignment on screen, different rules off it — including whether screening is allowed.
What the tool does
Football Playbook draws, animates, organizes and prints seven-on-seven plays. It does not enforce or claim compliance with any specific league's rules.
Seven-on-seven concepts, drawn and animated
Live diagrams rendered by the editor's engine — offense and the coverage you're attacking.
Three levels to one side: a clear-out, an intermediate breaker and a flat.
The crossers occupy the underneath, the back's wheel attacks the space they vacate.
Draw the defensive side too: drops and rotations shown against the same concept.
Timing
In a passing game, timing is the concept
A flood only works if the intermediate route breaks after the clear-out has pulled the safety. Playback runs all seven players at once so you can see the window rather than imagine it, and you can hold a receiver at a break point to model a stop-and-go honestly.
Defense
Draw the coverage, not just the routes
Add a defensive side to any play and move it: corners bailing, a safety rotating, a linebacker carrying the wheel. It turns a route picture into a teaching diagram for both units, which matters when the same 7v7 session is developing your defensive backs too.

Organize
Concepts grouped the way you install them
Keep a base concept playbook, a red zone set and a two-minute package. Situation tags mark down, field position and intent, so at a tournament the right calls are in front of you.

Coach more than one format?
Plenty of 7v7 coaches also run a flag team. Start in any format — a play can be switched later and the alignment comes with it.
7v7 football playbook questions
- What does 7v7 football mean?
- It depends who's asking. In passing-league and camp football, 7v7 is a no-linemen, pass-only game used to develop quarterbacks, receivers and defensive backs. In flag football, 7v7 is simply a seven-player-per-side league with its own rules. Football Playbook is a drawing and animation tool — it supports seven-on-seven diagrams for either, and it doesn't enforce any league's rulebook.
- Which 7v7 rules does Football Playbook enforce?
- None, deliberately. Rules vary between passing leagues, flag organizations and camp circuits, so the tool gives you a seven-player alignment and full drawing freedom, and you apply your own league's rules on contact, blocking, rushing and field size.
- Can I draw route concepts and combinations?
- That's the core of it. Draw each receiver's route by hand, adjust the depth by dragging a node, and mark the primary read so the concept teaches a progression rather than five unrelated lines.
- Can I show the coverage a concept is beating?
- Yes. Add a defense to the play and draw defensive movement — drops, slides and pressure — so a diagram can show cover 2 versus cover 3 rather than a static shell.
- Does the animation help with 7v7 timing?
- It's the main reason to animate. In a passing game, whether the crosser clears before the dig arrives is the entire concept, and playback runs everyone at once so you can see the window open and close.
- Can I run motion in 7v7?
- Yes. Motion is drawn as its own path and executes before the snap in playback, so you can check that a receiver arrives in time to be set at the snap under your league's rules.
- Can players wear my 7v7 calls on a wristband?
- Yes. Number your concepts and print a booklet of up to 24 slots — useful in a tournament where you're calling from a sheet between rapid-fire series.
- Can I use this for a 7v7 flag team as well as a passing-league team?
- Yes. The 7v7 alignment is the same seven players either way; what differs is your rules and personnel. Many flag coaches draw 7v7 here and also keep 5v5 or 6v6 playbooks for other leagues.
